Soft Brushes- For laying products in your head to smooth your hair out and also when you got a really low cut like a #1
Medium Brushes- the main brush to use when wolfing it is not to hard and not to soft, just perfect to lay your head down
Hard Brushes- a hard brush is used when you are wolfing and you cant lay your hair down with the medium brush.
